The MAX3243CPWR is a RS-232 multichannel Line Driver/Receiver with ±15kV ESD (HBM) protection pin-to-pin (serial-port connection pins, including GND). Flexible power features saves power automatically. Special outputs ROUT2B and INVALID are always enabled to allow checking for ring indicator and valid RS-232 input.

• Single-chip and single-supply interface for IBM PC/AT serial port
• Three drivers and five receivers
• Operates up to 250kbps
• 4 x 0.1µF External capacitors
• Always-active non-inverting receiver output (ROUT2B)
• Serial-mouse driveability
• Auto-power-down feature to disable driver outputs when no valid RS-232 signal is sensed
• Meets or exceeds the requirements of TIA/EIA-232-F and ITU V.28 standard
• 300µA Typical low active current
• 1µA Typical low standby current
