PETG, or polyethylene terephthalate glycol, is a transparent filament with a glossy finish. In addition to being environmentally friendly and recyclable, PETG has more flexible strength than ABS. This filament also utilizes Smart Spool, which provides material type, color, and amount remaining information via an RFID chip to MakerBot Print. A desiccant in the spool also helps maintains a low moisture level inside the drawer bay.
