LensCoat LegCoat Overview
Made from a soft neoprene, this set of three Realtree MAX-5 LegCoat Wraps 518 wrap around the upper part of your tripod's legs for protection as well as comfort when being handled. Using touch fasteners, the soft neoprene wraps are easily affixed to a tripod and create a thermal barrier to keep the tripod manageable, even in extremely hot or cold conditions. The wraps also provide protection from bumps and scratches. To ensure the best quality it is made in the USA.
This model is 18" long and is designed for tripods with leg diameters of 1.45-1.7", such as the Gitzo Series 4 and 5.

Works great on my Series 5 Gitzo tripod
Perfect fit works great
Much Improved Handling
I got these for an older massive/heavy aluminum Gitzo tripod to cut down on the slippage, and comfort when carrying the unit on my shoulder. I like the way they attach, and also their sleek look. It's as if they came on the tripod from Gitzo. Nice!
Not a clean fit for a 4 Series Gitzo,
This is a neoprene with Velcro on each end. The manufacturing of the item was good. The fit for a 4 Series Gitzo, not so good. There was more Velcro hanging over the edge than attached. Had the �female� Velcro tab been larger to hold down the leading edge I would not returned the product. Going old school and wrapping the legs in gaffer�s tape.

They are pretty much as described and they insulate and protect as advertised. They are a little bulkier than I had expected. I might just wrap one leg.

As always a perfect fit. Make sure you are ordering the right size and you will not be disappointed. I�m constantly on the move while photographing wildlife and these provide the right amount of padding when I�m relocating and have the tripod balance on my shoulder.

After purchasing the Robus RC-8880 TRIPOD from I needed some leg covers as one of the legs on the RC-8880 is not protected with a rubber coating, (see my RC-8880 review on this site) and wanted not only protection but more comfort when having it on my shoulder when hiking on a shoot. This is the perfect solution fitting these carbon fiber legs with just little extra depth but supplies lots of protection. Rubber type material on the back-side for non-slip guarantee and soft but durable material on the out-side. The sizes are a bit confusing on the site-listing so I called in and asked for help. Per the PRO support help-team it was the exact match I needed upon arrival. No surprise here, they, are simply the best. I use lots of LenCoat products and like all of their line. This is another great offering from a quality line of support products and always great help from a knowledgeable and helpful staff. It's a WIN - WIN
